XR in the Czech Republic

When people think of immersive technologies and extended reality (XR), they don't necessarily think of the Czech Republic first. The country is not (yet) one of the pioneers in this field. Nevertheless, the technologies of the future have already arrived here and more and more companies are shifting to them. The market for XR in the Czech Republic is increasingly growing. This can be seen, for example, in the fact that many services, such as museum tours, can be experienced interactively thanks to immersive technologies. The Czech Republic is thus emblematic of the whole of Eastern Europe. While the XR market is already well formed in Northern and Western Europe, it is often still in its fledgling stages in Eastern Europe. However, the potential is enormous, so investors should take a close look here in particular.

CzechTourism

CzechTourism is a Czech state agency promoting tourism in the country. Among other things, they have developed a XR-supported mobile app for this purpose. The virtual guide interactively leads through Czech sights, such as the spa town of Mariánské Lázně, the ballroom of Žofín, to a village festival in Moravia and to the Prachov Rocks.

Association for Virtual and Augmented Reality

AVRAR describes its activities as creating a community of virtual and augmented reality. They connect specialists, entrepreneurs, institutions, academicians and enthusiasts and aim to bring VR and AR innovations come to life. They organize Czech VR Fest, the biggest festival and confe-rence in this field in Central Europe.

Metaverse Festival 2022

The Czech Republic aims to position itself as a major player in the field of immersive technolo-gies. The Metaverse Festival in Prague in June 2022 was attended by more than 200 technology enthusiasts.  In addition to unique XR experience part, there were presentations on Web3, NFTs and tips on how to get started with Metaverse for companies.
