With technology continuously evolving, more solutions are getting developed every day to resolve modern-day challenges. Long grocery checkout lines is a challenge that could use modern tech solution, as shoppers waste too much time standing in lines to scan and pay for orders.

A smart shopping basket can revolutionize self-service checkouts. Equipped with sensors and cameras, the basket would detect the items placed inside, calculate their price, and even bag them.

To checkout, shoppers can simply place that basket on a special machine. Placed in a slot, the bottom of the basket slides out to drop the items into a plastic bag. All the customers have to do is pay for their order.

In the future, this system will be integrated with a smartphone payment app to automate the whole purchasing cycle.
