Czech Republic hopes to establish ‘strategic partnership’ with Saudi Arabia

Jakub Kulhanek, the Czech Republic's foreign minister, visited Saudi Arabia for the first time in April 2022, meeting with Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir. Kulhanek was accompanied by a trade mission consisting of businessmen and women from various sectors.

Saudi Arabia is one of the Czech Republic's most important trading partners in the Middle East. There is interest on the part of the Czech government in further developing these relations. Kulhanek and Prince Faisal agreed to revive the Czech-Saudi Joint Commission, which has been dormant for the past decade. This is a platform that brings together government officials from both countries to discuss issues of common interest.
