Agri-Tech and Food in the Arab Region

Access permissions

Agriculture forms an important part of the economy of the MENA region, although its share varies widely within individual countries. North Africa is particularly dependent on agricultural production, whereas the economies of the Gulf states are predominantly based on other sectors. The region's water scarcity and growing population put particular pressure on agriculture in the region. Modern agricultural technologies can help combat these challenges and improve the situation in a region that is largely dependent on food imports.
