Italy recycles 79 percent of its collected waste. Italy's recycling rate is more than double the EU average, placing it far ahead of all other major European countries. Furthermore, despite having a high recycling rate, Italy has managed to improve its performance over time. Italy's recycling rate increased by 8.7 percent between 2010 and 2018.
