Opportunity:

People who are visually impaired face significant challenges; they are unable to access a lot of information and interact comfortably with their environment. There’s a great need for assistive technology that enables and promotes inclusion and participation.

Solution:

Smart glasses can empower the visually impaired by describing what’s in front of them. They no longer need to ask for assistance; the smart glasses will provide them with the independence they seek.

The glasses can recognize objects, read text, detect obstacles and speak to the user using artificial intelligence (AI) via earphones. They can be designed similar to regular glasses with a smart camera on the side.

The glasses can help the wearer find and differentiate between things easily. By simply pointing at an object, the glasses will recognize the users’ gestures and tell them what the object is or what is written on the labels.
