📢 Announcing the Intellectual Property (IP) Training Program 

We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Intellectual Property (IP) training program in partnership with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), commencing in July 2025.

What’s Included?

• One virtual training session (1-2 hour long)
• Focus: Fundamentals of intellectual property and the use of WIPO's diagnostic tool
• Target Audience: Green businesses

Opportunity to Join the IP Management Clinic Program (IPMC)

Top performing businesses selected for the above training session will be eligible to join WIPO's IP Management Clinic Program (IPMC). and will receive an exclusive invitation to the Arab SMEs Summit 2025.

The IPMC is a four-month program that aims to help companies better utilize IP as part of their business strategies. The anticipated time dedication for participants during this period is estimated at between 10 to 15 hours each.  (Note: Enrolment in the virtual training session is required to be eligible for the IPMC program.)

Why Join the IP Management Clinic Program?

Companies selected to participate in the IP Management Clinic will benefit from a free program of activities spread over 4 months, specifically designed to address their management needs as determined in the application process. They will receive advice on IP management strategies and guidance on how the IP system can make their green products or services more competitive in today’s market.

Participants will have a clear understanding of the importance of protecting their IP assets and will be guided on managing and leveraging these IP rights in the different phases of their business journey.

At the end of the program, participants will be granted a certificate from WIPO, recognizing their successful completion of the clinic and their enhanced capacity in intellectual property management.

Program Schedule

•    30 July 2025: First session open to all participants
•    07 August 2025: Official Launch of the IP Management Clinic Program
•   August- Nov 2025: Three personalized, one-on-one mentoring sessions with renowned IP and business experts;
•    August- Nov 2025: Three online workshops covering a range of business- and IP-related topics designed to correspond to the specific needs of participating companies, including:

• IP intelligence and audit;

• branding and marketing;

• IP & green businesses strategies;

• Patenting strategies for agriculture technologies;

• IP ownership and collaboration within the green technology ecosystem;

• Advice on IP issues in overseas markets;

• IP valuation and financing;

• IP risk mitigation and enforcement;

• Peer-to-peer networking opportunities among participating companies in the clinic.

• Nov 2025: Exclusive invitation to the Arab SMEs Summit 2025

Who can apply?

To participate, companies must meet the following criteria:

• Be a Startup or an SME (less than 50 million turnover and 250 employees);

• Be based in an Arab country

• Own a product or service that is already commercialized in the market and be potentially or already protected by IP rights;

• Have an innovative green product or technology;

• Have an entrepreneurial team (of at least two people);

• The entrepreneurial team must have a good command of English.

Deadline and Schedule

To participate, applicants must complete this questionnaire by June 30, 2025. WIPO and ESCWA will assess applications and select top performing companies. The selection announcement will take place in July 2025.

To ensure a successful IP Management Clinic, the selected companies will be expected to actively participate in the program (join online workshops, join Arab SMEs Summit, provide non-confidential information on their product or technology and IP, provide feedback after the clinic with a time dedication estimated at between 10 and 15 hours).
