The Regional Training Programme on Green Technologies and Business Models offers accessible and impactful learning opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs across the Arab region.
Launched as a joint initiative between the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), the programme equips participants with the knowledge, practical skills, and entrepreneurial mindset needed to advance green technologies and sustainable business solutions in the region.
Our goal is to empower a new generation of green entrepreneurs capable of driving sustainable development and contributing to a more resilient and prosperous future.
The programme features four comprehensive online courses, each focused on a key thematic area:
- Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH): The course provides practical, hands-on training on sustainable water management, sanitation systems, and hygiene practices. Participants will learn about innovative technologies like rainwater harvesting, wastewater treatment, and hygiene solutions aimed at improving community health and access to clean water.
WASH course is currently available on DEPAR in:
- Renewable Energy: The course offers comprehensive training on sustainable energy solutions, including solar photovoltaics, bioenergy, wind energy, and emerging innovations like smart energy management. Designed to inspire entrepreneurs to adopt eco-friendly technologies, this course equips learners with the skills to drive renewable energy initiatives in their communities. The course will launch on May 31st.
- Agricultural Technologies: This course introduces participants to innovative agricultural practices, emphasizing sustainable farming, soil management, and organic farming techniques. Learners will gain insights into creating green business models aimed at enhancing productivity, preserving natural resources, and ensuring food security across the Arab region. The course will launch July 15th.
- Digital Agricultural Technologies: The course highlights the transformative role of digital solutions in modern agriculture. Topics include IoT, AI, and innovative farming technologies. Participants will learn how to integrate digital tools to optimize agricultural practices, increase efficiency, and enhance resilience to environmental challenges. The course will launch September 1st.
Learners who successfully complete the courses will receive official certificates, recognizing their achievements and equipping them to drive innovative and sustainable solutions in their communities.
