ASMEs 2024: Success Report
The Arab SMEs Summit – ROWAD 2024, co-hosted by ESCWA and Qatar Development Bank, merged two major platforms to empower startups and SMEs across the Arab region. Drawing over 5,000 participants from more than 20 Arab countries, the event offered extensive networking, capacity-building, and exposure opportunities. Participants benefited from a wide array of activities, including exhibitions, panels, workshops, and pitching sessions, all designed to foster innovation, sustainability, and regional economic collaboration. The summit also saw commitments totaling $368 million from key regional and international partners to support SME development.
Key highlights from the report:
💰 $368M+ pledged for SME support including e-commerce, green tech, and entrepreneurship.
🌍 120 exhibitors from 6 industries, representing countries like Qatar, Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan.
🧠 18 workshop sessions over 2 days, led by 65 international experts with 1,400+ participants.
💬 10 panel discussions, with 60% of speakers and moderators being women.
